GR26 - PSLLC - Pride – Let's see pride from all sides

Description : The activity took place in the school lab during after-school hours and focused on the emotional concept of pride as seen in sports photography. The action was structured into five parts:

Part1: Students were introduced to the concept of pride and discussed how athletes may express pride differently after winning or losing. A short guided discussion encouraged students to share their initial thoughts on emotions such as pride, disappointment, and resilience in sports.

Part2: Students were divided into small groups and assigned specific athletes or teams. Each group researched photographs showing moments of victory or defeat, focusing on body language, facial expressions, and context. Students used credible sources such as official sports websites, news articles, and photo archives.

Part3: Each group prepared and delivered a short presentation describing the emotions shown in their chosen images. Students imagined the athletes’ thoughts and feelings and justified their interpretations with visual evidence. A guided discussion followed, comparing different emotional responses.

Part4: Students reflected on how pride can exist both in winning and in losing and discussed parallels with their own academic or personal experiences.

Part5: Students wrote a short reflective text describing a moment when they felt proud or disappointed and how they dealt with those emotions.
