Our Bronze and Silver Gaisce participants travelled to the Ox Mountains Glamping site in Sligo-and what an experience it was. This year marked a special milestone, with our largest group ever of 51 students successfully completing their Gaisce awards.

Day 1 saw the entire group take on a challenging 18km hike across a mix of bogland, hills, and roads in the Ox Mountains. Their determination, teamwork, and resilience were evident throughout as they supported one another to reach the finish. After the hike, some brave students even took a dip in the ice-cold river for recovery, while others got started on preparing their well-earned 5-star meals - an important part of the Gaisce experience. The evening brought plenty of laughter and entertainment, as our talented singers and guitarists led a singsong under the clear night sky, with marshmallows toasted around the fire.

For our Silver participants, the journey continued. After the Bronze group departed, they set off on a second hike-an impressive 21km trek around

Lough Talt and back to camp near Mass Rock. Despite the distance, complaints were minimal. Their efforts were rewarded with a relaxing sauna session and a hot meal that evening. Completing the Gaisce Adventure Journey is no small achievement, and this accomplishment will stand proudly on their CVs for years to come.
