IR24 CC SHARE Mini Olympic Games

The Mini Olympic Games kicked off with teams arriving at the venue from various local primary schools, where students were sorted into mixed teams to promote collaboration and inclusivity. From 10:00 to 10:30, participants engaged in team-building activities, fostering camaraderie and excitement for the day ahead. At 10:30, the Olympic ceremony commenced, setting a festive tone for the event as students gathered to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork. The games officially began at 10:45, with students participating in a variety of sports, including Volleyball from the Greek school, Unihoc from the Slovakian school, Frisbee from the Italian school, and Pétanque from the French school. Additionally, students enjoyed playing Ireland's national sport, GAA, creating a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere from 10:45 to 13:00. Following an action-packed morning, a well-deserved lunch break was held from 13:00 to 13:45, allowing participants to recharge and socialise with their teammates. The day concluded with an awards ceremony and speeches from guest speakers, highlighting the achievements of all participants and reinforcing the values of teamwork and international collaboration. The awards ceremony included certificates of participation for every student, celebrating their involvement in the Mini Olympic Games. As the event wrapped up around 14:30, primary schools returned to their buses, taking with them cherished memories and a greater appreciation for sports and cultural exchange.
