Transition Year (4th Year) and 1st Year students engaged with a 2-day programme developing skills in performance. They had 3 days to learn and prepare for a live performance in our local theatre. The students had to show resilience as it pushed them out of their comfort zone, and they had to demonstrate commitment to the project as much of the preparation took place after school in the evenings.
Being able to sing, dance and perform in front of hundreds of people on the night of the show was daunting for the students, most of whom had never done anything like this before.
The skills developed here will stay with the students for a long time, and the community members that attended were treated with a show of energy, entertainment and joy.
