IT26 CC Diotti Art Gallery and Workshop on Olympic Sports

The Erasmus group visited the Diotti Museum under the guidance of a local art expert. The visit offered them the opportunity to come into contact with the local artistic culture through a collection of works ranging from the 18th century to contemporary local artists, showing the evolution of painting techniques and the creativity of artists who grew up in Casalmaggiore.

The students also enjoyed visiting the temporary exhibition Bestiario Fantastico, organized by young artists from the local area. After this immersion in art, which also allowed the students to appreciate the historic building hosting the museum, they took part in an engraving and printing workshop.

During the workshop, each student created a small artwork or bookmark inspired by the Olympic theme. The inspiration came from some works displayed in the museum that use the same technique to represent Olympic sports. Each student chose an Olympic discipline or symbol and, using an engraving tool, a plastic plate, ink, and a press, created a small piece of art that will remain as a souvenir of the experience.

Participants became acquainted with local art and painting techniques, developing curiosity and interest in artistic expression. As this was the first activity of the Erasmus week, it played an important role in helping students get to know each other and fostering interaction, collaboration, and team building. The activity also introduced students to Olympic history and showed how Olympic values and sports have been represented in artworks over time.
