IT26 CAEC VERONA WALKING TOUR

During the Congress week, the Erasmus group, together with their Italian host students and other classmates, travelled by bus from Casalmaggiore to Verona, a city that had recently hosted the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games. Upon arrival, students began a walking tour through the historic centre, discovering some of the most important monuments and landmarks.

The itinerary included Ponte Scaligero, a striking example of medieval architecture, and the Arena and Piazza Bra, symbols of Verona’s ancient Roman heritage and vibrant public life. The group then walked along Via Mazzini, known for its elegant marble pavement and lively atmosphere, reaching Piazza delle Erbe, one of the most characteristic squares of the city.

The tour also included places linked to literary tradition, such as the House of Romeo and Juliet’s House, which contribute to Verona’s worldwide cultural fame. After the guided sightseeing, students enjoyed some free time, during which Italian students accompanied their Erasmus partners to further explore the most iconic corners of the city, strengthening interaction and sharing their knowledge of local culture.

The activity enhanced students’ awareness and appreciation of Italian and European cultural heritage, while reinforcing respectful attitudes towards historical sites. Students engaged actively in the exploration of the city, developing curiosity and intercultural understanding. The shared experience, combined with peer interaction during free time, strengthened group cohesion and allowed students to connect cultural heritage with both historical and contemporary European identity.
