IT26 CAEC DAY TRIP TO BRESCIA aND HISTORIC WALKING TOUR
31 janv. 2026The Erasmus+ students, together with their Italian hosts, took part in a full-day educational trip Brescia. The Erasmus group visited the city of Brescia, a dynamic and modern city rich in historical and cultural heritage, located about 80 km from Casalmaggiore. In order to make the trip more environmentally friendly, the group travelled by train. Once in the city, students were able to move around easily on foot during a sightseeing tour that included some of the main historical and cultural landmarks: Piazzale Arnaldo, a lively area known for its evening social life; the exterior of the Santa Giulia Museums; the Roman Theatre and the Capitolium, with the well-preserved remains of the ancient Roman city; the famous Piazza della Loggia; the Cathedral; and the splendid Duomo Vecchio, an ancient Romanesque building. Time was also dedicated to appreciating contemporary aspects of the city, such as food culture, design and fashion, and observing the contrasts between tradition and innovation. The group reflected on how towns like Brescia preserve cultural heritage while remaining dynamic and modern. Throughout the day, moments were planned for intercultural exchange and informal discussion among students, supported by accompanying teachers who guided reflection and posed questions to deepen understanding. The activity was linked to the Olympic value Heritage / Respect, highlighting the importance of cultural memory, identity, and the responsibility to protect and value shared heritage.
The activity allowed development of cultural knowledge, curiosity, and openness to different artistic and historical expressions. Strengthening of observation and interpretation skills, along with appreciation for cultural diversity and heritage preservation. Active use of foreign languages and intercultural communication in a real-world setting. Encouragement of respectful and responsible behaviour in public and cultural spaces. These results contribute to a greater sense of European identity, shared values, and the ability to connect cultural experience with personal growth and learning.
