IRL25 Awards Ceremony
30 janv. 2026Aims and skills targeted
The aims of the awards ceremony and farewell party were to celebrate students’ achievements during Erasmus Week, to recognise their commitment and determination, and to strengthen the sense of community and friendship built throughout the programme. The event promoted social interaction, cultural appreciation, teamwork, confidence, and language development. It also reinforced values of inclusion, respect, and liberty through shared celebration and participation.
Description :
The event began with a formal awards ceremony attended by both Deputy Principals, who addressed the students and thanked everyone involved for their commitment, cooperation, and hard work in making Erasmus Week such a success. Students were presented with certificates for completing Erasmus Week, as well as certificates recognising their participation in the debate activities.
Following the ceremony, a farewell party was held. Host families kindly prepared and brought in traditional Irish foods and treats, which were shared among all students, allowing everyone to experience Irish hospitality and culture. Music was played throughout the event, and students performed Irish traditional dances that they had learned earlier in the week. Popular music was also included, giving students the freedom to dance, relax, and enjoy the celebration together.
A range of games took place, with the basketball tournament proving to be the most popular activity. Mixed teams were formed, bringing together Irish Transition Year students from the Erasmus class, host students, and visiting French students. The Transition Year students were invited to the celebration as a thank-you for their support and involvement throughout the week, and their participation further strengthened the inclusive and cooperative spirit of the event.
Results:
The awards ceremony and farewell party were a great success and a fitting conclusion to Erasmus Week. Students displayed strong friendships, teamwork, and mutual respect, reflecting the values of justice, determination, and liberty developed during the programme. The event created lasting memories and provided a positive space for cultural exchange, celebration, and fun. Students left with a sense of achievement, appreciation, and connection, highlighting the overall success of the week for all involved.
