Irish Heritage and Family Tree Project

In our Irish classes we explored the concept of heritage in a number of ways in this 2^nd year lesson.

Firstly, this fits in with the natural approach in Irish as there is a huge amount of learning surrounding the heritage of Ireland in every Irish lesson as students are learning their native language, the language their ancestors would have spoken.

The students were studying a unit based on the family. The aim of this project was to create a mind-map of the vocabulary surrounding family and to then use this vocab to complete a task based on their heritage by creating a family tree in Irish.
