To begin the  week our Erasmus+ students and teachers had an introduction to GAA and then got to practice these new skills. This was a great help as everyone was now aware of what was involved in the sport, its origins and the rules of the game. During the mini Olympic games each team had the opportunity to develop key skills in GAA through a structured and engaging training session.

Students first learned the fundamentals of both Gaelic Football and Hurling, focusing on essential techniques such as hand-passing, soloing, striking, and tackling. With guidance from experienced coaches, they practiced drills that improved their coordination, agility, and teamwork, helping them gain confidence in their abilities.

After honing their skills, the teams participated in competitive games, where they applied what they had learned in real match scenarios. These games provided an exciting chance for students to experience the fast-paced nature of GAA, while also fostering healthy competition and camaraderie. By the end of the session, every participant had the opportunity to both refine their skills and enjoy the thrill of playing in a competitive team environment.

This resulted in improved GAA skills and confidence. Participants developed core GAA skills like hand passing, soloing, and striking, gaining confidence in their abilities to play both Gaelic Football and Hurling. Enhanced
