For two weeks students explored the concept of Democracy in the context of Ireland. Students became aware of how they can not only be responsible through direct democracy but also through representative democracy. Examples of this explored the Dail/Oireachtas, Local authorities/County Councils and student councils.

Students had the option to design a fact file or mind map to take note and explain the above. Students will then demonstrate such learning by completing a blank template of such alongside holding a class election using the Proportional Representation (PR) democratic voting system which is used in Ireland.
