Students and teachers were introduced to the school's Robotics program through a demonstration featuring the VEX robot. This robot had recently competed in the Regional VEX V5 Tournament in Letterkenny, representing the school with pride. The demonstration included insights into the team's experiences and the challenges faced during the competition, highlighting the learning curve and growth opportunities inherent in robotics endeavors. Through their presentation, students showcased their mastery of engineering principles and their dedication to achieving excellence in robotics.

Tech Graphics:

In the technical graphics class, students engaged in a unique sketching exercise aimed at honing their skills. They completed a grid sketch, with each square of the grid revealed sequentially on the projector. This method encouraged students to focus on the scale and proportion of each individual square, gradually building up the complete sketch. By emphasizing precision and attention to detail, students developed their sketching abilities while reinforcing the importance of accuracy in technical graphics. Through this exercise, students demonstrated their commitment to perfection and excellence in their craft.

Engineering and Technology: Students developed engineering skills through active participation in the Robotics program, where they learned to design, build, and operate complex robotic systems. This hands-on experience provided valuable insights into real-world engineering practices and problem-solving.

Digital Competence: Engaging with robotics technology enhanced students' digital competence, equipping them with the necessary skills to navigate the digital landscape of the future. By interfacing with robotics platforms and programming languages, students gained practical knowledge applicable to various technological fields.

Sketching Skills: The grid sketch exercise in technical graphics facilitated the refinement of students' sketching abilities, emphasizing aspects such as scale, proportion, and detail. This activity not only strengthened their technical drawing skills but also fostered an appreciation for precision and accuracy in graphical representation.

Overall, the action succeeded in achieving its aims by nurturing a sense of pride in students' achievements and promoting a commitment to excellence in engineering and technical graphics. Through hands-on experiences and targeted exercises, students developed valuable skills applicable to both academic and professional contexts, setting them on a path towards future success in the fields of engineering and technology.
