SK25 CC IDENTITY Lecture on volunteering in Poprad

Students were introduced to the leaders one of the NOs in Poprad called Kolaj 22. It is an organization which deals with volunteering activities in Poprad and tries to raise cultural awareness in the town. Students got information about volunteering activities which are done by this organization and also got a lot of practical advice how to join any of their activities. Firstly, it was about basic information of the NO and its activities. Later, students worked on their problem solving tasks given to them by the leaders of the lecture. They had to cooperate in groups and find the best solution to the social problems given. It was not only about how to help the others but also about how to lead a NO and how to have their voice be heard.

Finally, the students presented their suggestions to the problems and justified their arguments. They finally agreed that it is very important to be aware of the social problems and life in their town and to try to part in social community and its activities. They identified with their own places of living in Poprad, Dunkirk and Ballyshannon and discussed their social problems and volunteering possibilities.

The students joyfully cooperated in both activities, presented their social life in their towns and problems people face there. Identifying with their community was the main topic and the greatest success of the lecture.
