First, the students were divided into groups and took part in a thoughtful discussion about migration and the experiences of migrants.

They then collaboratively composed poems on the theme of immigration, which they presented on posters enhanced with drawings and images. This creative and reflective activity fostered empathy, encouraged teamwork, and deepened the pupils’ understanding of migration by connecting emotional expression with real-world issues in a meaningful and human-centred way.

This activity allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of migration by exploring both historical and personal perspectives, while developing empathy and critical thinking. Writing poems helped them express complex emotions and experiences creatively, enhancing their communication and reflective skills. Through this artistic approach, they also improved their ability to connect emotionally with real-world issues and developed a more human-centered view of migration.
