Marcella Matone is a ceramicist, originally from Argentina, who has been based in Désirade for about twenty years. She often uses clay from Désirade directly. And cooks using traditional methods: wood, paper...

During the practical workshop on Ceramics with Marcella Matone, the teachers were able to make sound objects. These objects are called Pachamamita in South America. It was necessary to model the clay to make a container in the shape of a woman with geometric patterns. This container was then filled with small balls of clay which, after cooking, create a delicate sound when the object is shaken.

This workshop led by Marcela Matone offered an enriching immersion in the making of ceramic sound objects. Thanks to an approach that was both technical and artistic, participants were able to develop their sensitivity to sound while manipulating the material. A great experience of creativity and sensory learning!
