FRG24- PSLL- RESPECT- Justice debate

We started on session with a sports crossword game, so that students could review and enriched their sports vocabulary. Within the next session we watched the Netflix documentary Untold – Hall of shame, which examines one of sports’ biggest steroid scandals via interviews with the head of BALCO lab and athletes suspected of using performance-enhancing drugs (Tim Montgomerry).
After discussing and giving their point of view on the documentary, the students had to study an article on Marion Jones who was forced to give back her olympic medals after lying to federal agents under oath.
During their two last session, students had to prepare for their debate on the following subject : "Should athletes using steroids within the Olympic Games be allowed to keep their medals ?"
The debate was made of : 1 team for, 1 team against and a jury.
In their Sciences class, our students also conducted transversal researches on the effects of steroids (and other drugs) on the human body.
