14 avr. 2024A healthy diet is essential for good health and nutrition. It protects you against many chronic noncommunicable diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Eating a variety of foods and consuming less salt, sugars and saturated and industrially-produced trans-fats, are essential for healthy diet.
The Greek diet was very healthy. They grew wheat and made breads and cereals and noodles. They grew olives and figs and grapes. They grew all kinds of vegetables. They kept goats for milk and cheese. They fished in their many waterways and streams.
Students were gathered in the main hall of our school and learned some of the basic recipes derived from ancient Greece.
They prepared a honeypie, an ancient Greek salad with groats, a nutritious salad with lentils for detoxification and a fruit salad.

Students learnt that good nutrition can enhance sporting performance. A healthy diet can actually help them release, stress and depression.
They had a very nice and relaxing time preparing food while having a good breakfast.
