FRBV26 PSLL ENGAGE: perseverance Sport and Inclusion
25 mars 2026The workshop was organized by a PE teacher as part of the itinerary of the hosting week in France,physical exercise being essential for children's physical and mental health. This sport workshop was designed for maximum engagement through a rotating station format. Each group began at a designated station, allowing all nine workshops to activate simultaneously at the first whistle. with each session following a structured two-phase approach. At the second whistle, referees and players swapped roles, guaranteeing every participant experiences both the competitive and officiating sides of the game.
When the final three whistles sound, groups transitioned to their next station guided by a personalized Roadmap and Result Sheet. Within each time block, pairs awere encouraged to take unlimited attempts to secure their highest score or fastest time.
The stations: The circuit featured nine diverse challenges: relay, archery, basketball, and the "Infernal Chair."
Notably, the inclusion of Boccia and Cécifoot provided students with meaningful exposure to Paralympic sports and the lived experiences of athletes with disabilities.
The students had fun and communicated a lot, showing solidarity, enthusiasm, support, respect and endurance. They improved in these fields:
Skill Diversity: Mastering varied movements, from precision (Archery) to endurance (Relay).
Adaptive Techniques : Developing non-visual senses and seated coordination through Cécifoot and Boccia.
Social & Personal Growth: Leadership: Practising authority and fair play by stepping into the Referee role.
Autonomy : Navigating the circuit independently using a personalized Roadmap.
Resilience: Improving performance through "unlimited attempts" within time limits. Inclusion & Empathy
Disability Awareness: Gaining a firsthand perspective on Paralympic sports.
Universal Design : Understanding how sports can be adapted for all physical abilities.
