FRG24-CAE- ENGAGE- Body Dancing Day

On May 31, 2024, the students were able to participate in “dance day”. Three companies performed during school hours for all students from kindergarten to third grade. A representation for the entire population of the territory was offered on the village palec. The Hédo company offered a show called “Danse si t’es”. This choreographic creation intended for a young audience takes us to question this era of joy and carefree imagination. It reminds future generations of the world in color, its beauty and its reality without the filter of screens. They pushed viewers to question their digital uses by playing with their wooden tablets. The bodies of the 4 dancers will illuminate young and old, in this reflection which touches us all, in order to find ourselves - or find ourselves - in this quest for identity.

The Tantak collective asked the spectators to wonder about : -The individual within the group - The group vis-à-vis the individual - Dance as identity construction - Listening and paying attention to others - Exploration of one's own gestures and physical identity - Experimentation with different gestures - Work on relationships with others - Work on shapes in space - Collaboration with music

The Mangrove company proposed "the embroiderers", a group of three Creole women from diverse backgrounds, they fuse their cultures through jazz and original creations. They explore the connection between their personal heritage and the world, addressing themes like femininity and the black women experience.
