The favorite action of the year is the artistic residency with the Hedo collective. The students enjoyed working with young professional artists. They were able to discover the rigor involved in the practice of dance. The long duration of the residency and the numerous preparation sessions also allowed the students to really experience this practice. The restoration in the heart of the village was a strong moment of sharing and emotion for both the children and the parents.

The artistic and cultural residencies in schools aim to: participate in the development of artistic and cultural education build collaboration between professionals in artistic and cultural professions, educational teams and a significant number of classes. With the aim of contributing to reducing inequalities in access to art and culture allow as many people as possible to understand the creative process.

The HEDO Collective is the union of four young people aged 22 to 24, Guadeloupean dancers, performers-choreographers. They choose to anchor themselves in their territory in order to develop and promote their art. Over the years, they have been able to create their language within a singular unit—a language that they now wish to share on and off their territory. Indeed, various projects animate them, notably the dissemination of their choreographic creations and the teaching of dance at school through artistic and cultural education projects.

From January 29 to February 2, 2024, students from firts grade to 8 grade participated in a residency with the HEDO collective and the Correspon’danse associative structure. Every day, they danced for 2.5 hours, in order to prepare a restitution in the form of a flash mob for the entire population of the island. The theme of the Olympic Games was retained with the common thread: the transition from sporting gesture to dance gesture (tennis, swimming, basketball..). The Hédo collective also offered a choreographic creation during the restitution. This presentation time in the heart of the village showed everyone the quality of the collective work carried out. Intense moments which were very appreciated by students, teachers and parents.
