4 students in the Erasmus+ class (2nd year) work on a value : “Diversity”. They have to prepare a 3-part event about “RESPECT” based on the work of 3 groups, the other two being organised by two other groups about “democracy” and “equality”. They have to think about this value by following 5 guidelines : respecting a time limit (45 minutes), answering a problem in the form of a slideshow that they write in French but present in English, illustrating their thinking by creating posters on concrete examples, interceding with the public (3 high school classes and 3 teachers), inviting an outsider to testify about his experience related to the topic. 4 students announce their event by making a poster. They organize this event as follows :

From a quote by Jae L. Phania : "Sharing is the bridge that connects hearts, an act that celebrates the richness of humanity and nourishes the bonds that unite us", they started from the idea that sharing allows to live a rich diversity. They presented a slide show to answer this question : how respect for diversity unites us? During their conference, they demonstrated how diversity is a value that falls within each of the 3 areas of study of the RESpectOl project (respect, engage, share). They illustrated their point by analyzing many examples :

*Engage : diversity was linked to the values of determination, universal and determination through the examples of the politician and poet Leopold Sedar Senghor, events that celebrate European diversity, the football World Cup

*Share : they associated diversity with the values of peace, solidarity and fraternity through the examples of the European Court of Human Rights, the issue of migrants, the reception of young Ukrainians

*Respect : they highlighted the values of inclusion, liberty and equality through the Paralympic Games, the footballer Nouhaila Benzinaand the Erasmus+ program.

Posters were also produced and presented to reach young people with examples of personalities more related to their daily lives : Victoria’s secret, Emma Watson, Angelina Jolie and Chris Nikic, as well as a QR code illustrating the information with many photos.

At the end, they invited three members of a local association of assistance to migrants to come and expose their experience, two educators and a young migrant who spoke about his journey since he left his country to the vocational training he is following today.

4 classes go to the auditorium of the “Hall aux sucres”, the learning center in Dunkirk. The 4 students carry out the different activities they have prepared. The audience was very attentive when the 4 students presented their slideshows and their research. Students were particularly touched by the young African migrant who came to explain his journey, the difficulties he had to leave his country and a part of his family, and the difficulties he encountered when he arrived in France and that he still faces today. They also enjoyed the kahoot! that the students had prepared at the end of the conference.
