FRG26 Engage Participation An education and sport session
05 mai 2026The session brought together six 8th-grade students, the twelve Erasmus students, and their accompanying teachers. Some Erasmus teachers also participated in the various activities, which helped to create excellent group dynamics and foster a genuine moment of exchange, sharing, and camaraderie among all the participants. The morning began with a traditional warm-up consisting of joint and athletic drills, led entirely by the 8th-grade students. They were able to demonstrate the warm-up routine typically performed at school to the Erasmus students. This practical exercise allowed them to take on responsibilities, develop their self-confidence, and showcase their skills to the international students. Next, we organized a relay race on the beach in the form of a cooperative challenge. Participants had to complete a course carrying a cup, filling it in the sea, and then returning to gradually fill water bottles for their team. This fun and dynamic activity required genuine cooperation among the group members: communication, organization, collective strategy, and mutual support were essential for success. The atmosphere was particularly positive, and all the students participated with enthusiasm and good humor. The session continued with a beach volleyball activity, offered in an adapted and playful format to emphasize the enjoyment of the game, interaction, and cooperation among the participants. The mixed teams, composed of Erasmus students, regular students, and sometimes accompanying teachers, fostered intercultural interaction and exchange in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. The morning concluded with a friendly gathering and a group photo before returning to school, creating a lasting memory of this sporting and social experience. The Erasmus students also had the opportunity to discover the sports facilities and changing rooms used for physical education classes at the La Désirade middle school, as well as our exceptional working environment, including the possibility of engaging in physical activities directly on the beach in a stunning natural setting. This session perfectly illustrated the values promoted by the Erasmus project: cooperation, cultural openness, respect for others, mutual support, inclusion, and community spirit. It allowed the students to share a fun, friendly, and enriching sporting experience, fostering group cohesion, intercultural exchange, and the enjoyment of physical activity together.
