The educational action was implemented in the school’s computer laboratory, outside regular teaching hours, within the framework of the Erasmus+ project on Olympic values. The activity aimed to actively engage students in exploring the historical and cultural significance of the Ancient Olympic Games through digital research and collaborative learning.

Students worked in small groups and used the official website of the Archaeological Museum of Olympia, along with other reliable online sources, to gather information about Ancient Olympia. They focused on understanding the layout of the site, including important structures such as the stadium, the palaestra, and the hippodrome, as well as the sports that took place in each area.

Throughout the activity, students analyzed and selected relevant information, discussed their findings within their groups, and organized their material into presentations. Emphasis was placed on developing critical thinking, digital competence, and the ability to interpret historical content. The teacher acted as a facilitator, guiding students in evaluating sources and supporting them in structuring their work.

The use of the school lab provided students with access to digital tools and created a collaborative learning environment that encouraged participation and interaction. Working outside school hours also contributed to a more flexible and engaging atmosphere, allowing students to take initiative and responsibility for their learning.

The final outcome of the action was the creation of presentations describing the spaces of Ancient Olympia and the sports performed there. Through this process, students gained a deeper understanding of Olympic values such as respect, excellence, and fair play, while also strengthening their research, communication, and teamwork skills.
