15 mai 2025As a part of the day trip to Bardejov, the students and teachers visited the Medieval Town Square of Bardejov along with the Town Hall. The students studied the town’s original map and compared it with its present-day layout and were informed of the original purposes of the town hall’s building. The tour guide pointed out the original drawings on the walls that are still well preserved. They also explored the history of Bardejov’s German-speaking population, which included tradespeople and merchants—such as blacksmiths, tailors, and carpenters—who thrived thanks to the town’s strategic position along a key trade route. Many of the buildings, some dating back more than 500 years, reflect styles of Renaissance and Upper Hungarian Gothic architecture. Overall, the students were impressed by the historic centre of the town.
The students expressed interest in the history of the town and all their questions were answered by the tour guide.
