FRG24 CC- SHARE- Fairplay- Fairplay or Foulplay?

Understand the concepts of fairplay and foulplay. Understand that in sport (and within the Olympic Games) there are rules and if those rules are not followed there can be consequences for the athletes. Learn vocabulary in sports, learn the notion of respect in sport.

We started our session with a Kahoot quizz on the Olympic Games (previous Olympic Games, Mascots, cities…) to test the students knowledges on the subject. During the next session students had to conduct researches on the word fairplay which we analysed and explained during our session. We listed a couple of fairplay actions and foulplay actions on the whiteboard and students had to give examples of athletes of their knowledge who had been either fairplay or foulplay.
Each students had to pick an athlete and create a poster on the fairplay (or foulplay) actions of those athletes and the consequences of those actions.  

By conducting their own researches, our students gain awareness on the notions of fairplay and foulplay. They also aknowledge that in sports there are rules which need to be respected. They understood as well that in sports one’s need to be kind and considerate towards his/her opponent.
