The students first looked at images representing the various Olympic Games logos of recent decades: they analyzed how a figure or drawing can represent abstract ideas such as values, and thus become symbolic. This research also included the Paralympic Games. They then studied the meaning of the Latin motto of the Olympic Games ("Citius altius fortius").Finally, they researched on the Internet the different mascots chosen in the different organizing countries, always asking themselves what they represented and how they represented it. The group was then divided into teams (of 3 or 4 students): they each had to imagine a mascot and a motto representing the Olympic Games that would be organized in their city, in their immediate environment (while also keeping their country in mind). They drew their projects on drawing paper, then coloured them. The motto had to be integrated into the design. They then had to prepare a technical sheet explaining what materials and techniques they would use to make the mascot.

The drawings were then exhibited in the school and will be shown to the families at the end of the school year at an evening event to present the activities of the "RespectOl" Erasmus project.
