4 students in the Erasmus+ class (2nd year) work on a value : “Pride”. They have to prepare a 3-part event about “ENGAGE” based on the work of 3 groups, the other two being organised by two other groups about “courage” and “citizenship”. They have to think about this value by following 5 guidelines : respecting a time limit (45 minutes), answering a problem in the form of a slideshow that they write in French but present in English, illustrating their thinking by creating posters on concrete examples, interceding with the public (3 high school classes and 3 teachers), inviting an outsider to testify about his experience related to the topic. 4 students announce their event by making a poster. They organize this event as follows :

They begin by defining the concept of pride and then explaining the question they have chosen to ask themselves from this value, which they will answer in their slideshow : “How is pride a driving force in life ?”. Their presentation is then organized from different areas in which they have considered the value : art, sport and politics. A poster illustrating a person whose pride was manifest and creative is presented and analyzed : Frida Kalho. Then, they show how pride is put at the service of different causes : they show that different personalities use their notoriety to defend the cause of children’s education - like Kylian Mbappé, others to defend equality and human dignity - like Elon Musk. The presentation ends with a poster dedicated to Nelson Mandela that the students present as emblematic of a personality whose struggles illustrate the multiple values at stake in the commitment : justice, equality, determination, resistance, diversity, identity, the universal, the heritage, each of these values being illustrated by an aspect of the life of the character.

In a second time, the 4 students leave the floor to their guest, the founder and director of DK Park, a sports and leisure complex a Dunkirk that houses on 5000m2 5 disciplines : Foot to 5, Padel, Escape Game, Espace Jump and Fort Aventures. First the entrepreneur makes them watch a video on the complex. Then he returns to his professional career, explaining that his success comes from a failure he had as an employee who found himself fired despite a very large investment. He also explains by pride the origin of his project and says he is proud of his journey because of the many obstacles he has encountered (linked in particular to COVID): proud to see happy people in his center, proud to support thirty employees, proud also to be able to develop a social component by linking partnerships with cities or associations (for example a partnership with Ukraine).

At the end, the 4 students organize a Kahoot ! from the information transmitted during their whole presentation.

The audience was very attentive during the presentation of the students. He seemed particularly interested in the video and testimony of the director of DK Park, a sports and leisure complex they are used to attending. They were also very participative in the final Kahoot ! : the answers they gave show active listening to the whole presentation.
