GR24 PSLL - HERITAGE - Olympic Torch Relay

The torch is a symbolic object of the Games: the torches that carry the Olympic and Paralympic flames radiate the spirit of the Games throughout the host city and across the country. With each edition, the Games show that sport is a powerful way to build bridges and bring people together, proving that rivalry is no barrier to respect and friendship. The torch and flame spread a message of peace and unity, providing a unifying link for celebrating the Games.

The Hellenic Olympic Committee is responsible for holding the Touch of the Olympic Flame. The modest and symbolic ritual took place on the altar that exists in the area of ​​the temple of Hera (Heraion), in the archaeological site of Olympia.

The students of the Respectol program, traveled to ancient Olympia to be presetn at this historical moment. The President of the International Olympic Committee, the President of the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee and the French Minister of Sports were also there and we actually met them!!!

Although it was a very tiring trip, it was for sure a never forgetting experience for both students and teachers.

It was a trip no one will ever forget. Athletes and sports agents from all over the world came to attend the ceremony and we had the chance to meet them.
