Aims and skills targeted:

-Understand the multifaceted concept of fair competition throughout its time course.

-Understand the value of selflessness and not victory.

-To learn to create presentations

-The students will be taught the values of Olympism, "Ευ Αγωνίζεσθαι", "Ευγενή Άμιλλα", the Truce, they will learn that the athletes respect the rules of the games, the decisions of the judges, their teammates and opponents and finally the value of excellence and effort.

Description: FairPlay, functions throughout time as an element of moral education, rightly constituting the core of the sports ideal. It acts as a shield against irrational competition, which turns the good-natured strife into a merciless battle. The power of "fair play" depends, however, at the same time, on other principles, which the athlete must recognize equally: equality, meritocracy, democracy, as well as the unceasing effort to protect sports from bad practices Fair play is very important in Olympic Games. The International Committee for Fair Play (CIFP), established in 1963, aims to promote the practice of fair play principles, which are essential to sport.

The students visited the school lab outside of school hours. They were divided into groups or pairs and searched in historical sources, their school books and the internet on the concept of fair play. ? They found examples of athletes who helped their fellow athletes, even risking their final victory and the prize.

They used a presentation tool, to create a small presentation of examples of fair play in recent sport games.
