In the previous lab, the students prepared a solution by dissolution, with the aim of making a solution that could be usedin organic farming. It must have a copper sulfate concentration of 4 g.L-1. Unfortunately, to make 50 mL of this solution, we would have had to weigh out 0.2g of copper sulfate powder, which is not eough. One possibility is to make a first solution, which is then diluted; this is what was done. The students then had to calculate the volume of the previoussolution to be taken to make a solution that could be used in organic farming. After the calculation, it was time for experimentation: they used precision glassware to make the solution.

The students produced solutions corresponding to a precise criterion. To do this, they had to choose and use the appropriate glassware to prepare a solution by dilution.
