At the beginning of the session, the teacher explains the different expectations for this workshop and explains that it focuses on creating a multicultural quiz. The students are paired up with their foreign pen pals and must create a quiz with around fifteen to twenty questions, half of which must be about the history and geography of their pen pals' countries (and the other half about the history, culture or geography of France). Students therefore take a digital quiz on their phones on a website that allows them to create this type of material. The Kahoot app is recommended as it allows you to create quizzes in different formats and share them easily, creating competition between participants as the number of correct answers is counted. The pairs are then left to work independently for around forty minutes so that everyone has time to come up with questions about their country. During this creative period, pupils are encouraged to talk to their partner to find out about the history, geography and culture of their correspondent's country, and inversely. Once the quiz has been completed and the research time is up, the pairs are invited to share their quizzes with other pairs in order to try to answer questions about French, Spanish, Lithuanian or Italian values. The pupils can form groups of four or even six to compete in a quiz and see which of them knows the most about their correspondent’s countries, while maintaining a spirit of friendship and fair play. The pupils thus leave the session having learnt a few cultural facts or anecdotes about their correspondent's countries. To continue the activity, the teacher asks the students to talk about what they found interesting or surprising while creating their quiz. Many pupils say that they enjoyed discovering new facts about their partners’ traditions or national history. Some students also realise that they share common cultural aspects with their pen pals, which helps them feel more connected. The students then compare their quizzes and explain the choices they made when selecting their questions. This exchange allows them to practise their English in a natural way and to develop stronger communication skills. A few volunteers are invited to present one question from their quiz and explain why they chose it. At the end of the workshop, many pupils say that they feel more confident and more curious about other cultures.

Students can compete against each other in quizzes, thereby strengthening a spirit of fraternity or camaraderie and increasing the bond between them. The main objective is also achieved, as they leave the session having learnt cultural facts about France, Italy, Spain or Lithuania
