FRBV25 CC- Engage- Citizenship The European Union construction, a tool for a lasting peace to be preserved

We realised that the students in general did not know much about the European Union construction, its basic ideals and principles, its different stages and institutions. To address that issue, as part of the RESpectO project, the French students had done some research and created a timeline on the great dates of the European construction, They had also prepared a Kahoot with questions about the main events in the construction of the EU with a view to using it during the hosting week in March. And it is what they did when we hosted our Italian and Greek partners in March.

We were all gathered together in the school library for the workshop. First the Greek and Italian students were given 15 min to have a look at the timeline and try to get as much information as possible. 

Then, the group was divided into two teams. In order to check what the students had learnt from the timeline, the French students asked them some questions about the European construction and the partners were given 45 seconds to find the answer and score a point for their team. The workshop ended with the Kahoot prepared by the French students.

The Greek and Italian students learnt about the great dates of the European Union construction and the values that were at the origin of its creation.  The French students were able to share their knowledge with their partners in an attractive way. The Kahoot created by the French students, as well as the timeline, will be reusable in the future as a tool for the other students.
