Day outing in theater to see an adapted play of Alice in Wonderland in English. During those 75 minutes, the students had the opportunity to ear and to see a new version of one of their childhood story in English. Played by English actors, our students trained their earring skills by listening to different English accents. They also learnt fairy tales and stories vocabulary.

On the 11th January 2024 the students from 7th and 8th grade had a outing day to the theater in Les Abymes, a big town located in Guadeloupe main island. We went to see a 75 minutes play of Alice In Wonderland performed by le Théatre du Héron, a French professional theater company whose actors are performing in several languages (English, Italian and Spanish).
In this
adapted version of Alice in Wonderland our student rediscover the utopic world of Wonderland. Our students also learnt how complicated acting can be, since due to technical issues the actors were restricted to a very narrow stage.
Prior to this outing day
we had a session in class during which we study Alice in Wonderland and the names of the various characters in English. Therefore, on the outing day our students were aware and fulling trained to recognized each characters on stage. After the performance, they had a chance to talk with the actors and to give them their feedback on their performances and their understanding of the play.

Our students were thrilled to see Alice in Wonderland performed in English. They had a great engagement with the actors and learnt a lot about the theater terms. They gained a lot of vocabulary both on characters names and theater terms.
