First, the students work as a whole class to discover the role of UNESCO: it contributes to peace and security by promoting international cooperation in education, sciences, culture, communication and information. UNESCO promotes knowledge sharing and the free flow of ideas to accelerate mutual understanding and a more perfect knowledge of each other's lives. In pairs, after a draw, they carry out research on the natural or cultural site. A brainstorming session is then held to find out what all the sites discovered have in common and to establish the criteria for becoming a protected site. 

The students are then divided into three large groups to compete against each other. In these groups, the students work in pairs and in two stages. Each pair drew lots for a member country of the project and had to argue for a natural or cultural site, a dance, a festival, etc. to be included on the UNESCO list. Then each pair justifies its choice by presenting its poster at a "speed dating" session. The group members vote for the best pair. Finally, the 3 pairs selected compete in front of the class and the best is chosen by a final jury.

The students carried out research, summarised information in the form of posters or a video and argued in defence of their work. The students created their poster, cooperated and managed to share cultural and historical knowledge.
