FR24JB PSLL - HERITAGE - Olympics playing cards
10 juin 2024Students are divided into several groups.
They will be given cards with either a picture or a description on them. The cards presented to the students contain information on the most significant events of the Olympic Games: records, the best male and female athletes, mascots, sports, the Paralympic Games, etc.
They'll have to match them up and put them together by category. The aim is to discover the history of the Olympic Games through key events, to think about the possible families and to exercise their logical mind. By playing the game and matching the cards together, the pupils discover the values and history of the Olympic Games in a fun way, and can then understand their importance in history.
They have to work together and justify their choices in order to put together the final deck of cards.
Once these associations have been made, the group will have a deck of cards with which to play.
The pupils created a 7-family card game. They cooperated, discussed and argued to make it. They discovered key facts about the Olympic Games and had fun doing it.
