FR24JB PSLL - BODY - Dance session around European and Olympics Values
10 juin 2024The students were split into mixed groups and allocated time to prepare a creative presentation of values through dance. They must choose, represent 1 type of topic (Engage, Share, Respect), 3 types of values and create a choreography of 10 steps and a final pose with full of energy and one sound. The objective is to embody the concepts urban and creative dance. To accompany their performances, a selection of tunes was provided. The groups were required to pick one tune, which would serve as the backdrop for their choreography.
Operating under a strict time limit of 30 minutes, each group engaged in a rapid process when creating their final results.
This tested both their creative abilities and their capacity to work effectively as a team under pressure.
They performed their choreographies in front of peers and teachers who served as judges, evaluating the performances on criteria likely encompassing creativity, thematic representation, and choreographic quality. The teachers give a mark and choose the winning group.
In the end, the three groups chosen by the teachers are announced as winners when the results are presented, and they perform in front of all the students and Erasmus+ teams. No matter what type of dance is being performed, there is always an element of artistry and technical skill
involved. We believe our students will learn a lot from them and their collaboration for common result. They want to ensure that every move is the most efficient possible to make the spectators happy and surprised.
Creative dance allowed the students to get to know each other, socialise and fully experience the week's programme. Even the more timid ones put aside their initial scepticism and, in the end, all of them collaborated creatively, each with their own skills and abilities, in the realisation of the choreographies, reworking the themes of the project, particularly that of Olympics and European values. The successful integration of physical, intuitive, and intellectual efforts in their performances highlighted their understanding of the topic.
