DC DIGNITY – Migrants across Europe

To prepare a European mobility on migrants to which several students of the class will participate, an activity is proposed to all students to think about the issue of migrants in Europe.

First, the students in the class are divided into pairs : each group has to select a recent news item that took place in Europe in link with the issue of migrants.

Then, they have to do some research on the news they have chosen : the context (date and place), the presentation of the fact, the country of origin of the migrants and the living conditions in that country, the position of the host country on the integration / expulsion of migrants,

At the end, they create a slide they organize as they want that summarizes all their research and finds a photograph that illustrates the current event they have chosen.

All the slides are assembled in a slideshow that aims at making think about the origin of refugees, the causes of migration, the European immigration and asylum policy but also to make understand that this issue raises many controversies (reception of asylum seekers, their distribution among the Member States of the European Union).
